Career and Technical Education

Bowling Green High School boasts numerous Career and Technical Education pathways to cater to students who plan to pursue advanced degrees in specific fields after high school as well as those who plan to go directly into the workforce after high school.  Two of our most unique in-house pathways are our Medical Arts Academy and our Industrial Maintenance Program.  In our Medical Arts classes, students can enter pathways to become a certified phlebotomist, nursing assistant, dental assistant, or EMT.  Through our Industrial Maintenance program students can earn their OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certifications as well as several industry-specific certifications to kickstart a career in a wide variety of technical vocations.  Below are all of the Career and Technical pathways offered on our campus, but there are additional offerings that BGHS students can pursue at the Area Technology Center off campus.

Bowling Green High School seniors often sign Youth Apprenticeship Contracts with M&L Electrical Inc. as part of the Bowling Green High School’s TRACK Youth Apprenticeship Program.

The students in the TRACK Program spend part of their school days at M&L working toward their education, and also as paid employees. BGHS teacher David Loveland works with the students for classroom requirements, then at M&L, students will learn how to apply that knowledge on the job site. Both Benedek Poor and Henry Lindsey will be close to finishing their first year of apprenticeship, a nationally recognized credential before graduating high school.

The Tech Ready Apprentices for Careers in Kentucky (TRACK) youth apprenticeship program is a partnership between the Kentucky Department of Education's Office of Career and Technical Education and the Kentucky Office of Apprenticeship. TRACK programs must have a designated employer partner willing to register an apprenticeship program and have a cooperative education, or co-op placement.
