McKenzi Loid Memorial Internship

McKenzi Loid

 A paid public relations internship at Bowling Green High School is available for BGHS students through a private donation in memory of BGHS and WKU PR alumna McKenzi Loid. The student intern will work directly the BGHS administration and counseling team, as well as BGHS students to develop and implement a public relations campaigns, based on current events and/or local awareness initiatives.

McKenzi Loid, daughter of Tommy Jr. and Robin Loid, graduated Bowling Green High School in 2008. She was a cheerleader, proud Purple, and always known for her positive spirit and optimism. McKenzi attended and graduated Western Kentucky University in 2012 with a degree in public relations and began working as an account manager at Guthrie Mayes Public Relations Firm in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2016, she moved to Pittsburg, PA to work as a Public Relations Manager for the Walsh Group, specifically with the development of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. 

McKenzi passed away on June 27, 2017 after a tragic car accident in Pittsburgh. Following the accident, many individuals and organizations honored her memory and legacy of optimism by creating opportunities for others. The private donation to the BGISD Foundation, Inc. shares both her legacy and professional experiences with students of her high school.
